First fell in love with the blues while attending the Colorado School of Mines and hearing many bands and great music in Denver. Now after almost 15 years of loving the Blues, she is ecstatic about this great opportunity in Grand County. Pamela loves the ‘Blues’ and especially working with the Blue Star Connection which reaches out to kids with terminal illnesses to bring them joy, peace & healing through music and instruments. Check out our link on how you can join us in bringing smiles and joy to these kids thru instruments.

Tim is the owner of Rudi's Deli in Winter Park and has lived in the Valley for over a decade. A self-proclaimed music lover, Tim became involved with the Grand County Blues Society (GCBS) shortly after it's birth as a festival volunteer, show photog and as a Gold Member. Since being asked to join the board in 2007, Hubbard has worked as the lodging liaison, festival coordinator, and fundraiser. When asked what his favorite part of being on the Blues Board was, Hubbard replied, "Funding our various programs which help a lot of people. And THE MUSIC!". |

Kari Jo McInturff is a self employed, house painting, music loving, world traveler hailing from a small farming community in Oklahoma. She was introduced to the Grand County Blues Society through former board member Judith Graham. Not yet a blues fan, Kari Jo came to a few early GCBS shows and became a member to help get things going for our local community organization. Soon she was asked to join the board and she has been along for the ride ever since. She says she could eat her weight in spaghetti (several platefuls at least) but feels that her meatloaf and mashed potatoes are to die for. Legends James Cotton and Tommy Shannon along with Colorado harmonica player Al Chessis are her favorite musicians we have hosted here in the mountains. A true world traveler, Kari Jo’s favorite place is where ever the road takes her. On show nights that is usually Smokin’ Moe’s, where she is typically at the front door greeting guests as they wander in for another evening of great music. |

Bill, what does one say about a quiet person with the love of blues music. He has great knowledge of the art of music. What a friendly smile he has and a soft spoken man that doesn't let a whole lot of nothing bother him. I think he is a person that loves life and being in Grand County. He enjoys eating crab cakes, snowboarding, being with friends and of course the best blue's in the country. |

Mr. Catt. So much to say. I think the best summary is All About the Blues, All for the Blues. John loves the blues, but most of all he loves bringing blues to the people and creating one more spot on the map for the artists. He won't stop until we are the best. He makes this society. Without him, we would loose a lot of our drive and sparkle. As our official Blues Mojo, he holds all of us together and keeps us on our toes. Bottom line, he wants to guarantee that the artists have their best experience ever here in Grand County. His stories, his heart, his being is that of no other. Take time to listen and I guarantee you will be rewarded.Oh Ya, he was born on the day of Robert Johnson death. Coincidence? |

Joy McCoy is a long-time local resident of Grand County and has been Secretary for The Grand County Blues Society since early 2008. She is Youth Services Director at the Fraser Valley Library and heads up the "Check Out the Music" program at the 5 District libraries. Joy also has been raising funds through grant writing and works in supporting Blue Star Connection.
From the time Joy could play the hundreds of 45’s given to her as a young girl, she has connected with the soul of Blues harmony. Her own personal DJ system rated John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf as her top favorite records to spin. Realizing the Blues were formed to heal wounds through music, she connected with the efforts of GCBS and joined the Board in 2006.
Joy is a mountain biking, free-heelin’, skinny dipping, storytelling, joke snortin’, community loving, dog walking, friend hugging, green-thumb groove dancer. |

Art moved to Winter Park 12 years ago, from Wilmington, Delaware, to get out of a suit and tie. He worked in the lift department at the ski area for 5 years, a business analyst in the IT department at Intrawest for a few years, but now he is a photographer like he should be. Art is one of the founding members of the GCBS; the treasurer for the first year and the President for two and now back to treasurer. He heard his first live blues tune in Chicago in 1987 and has been a fan ever since. Art says he likes blues so much because the blues was really the first music to get him on the dance floor, willingly. First it moved his soul, then his body. He never really enjoyed music until he heard the blues. Besides listening to the blues you can also find Art mountain biking, skiing, hiking and taking photographs, and occasionally smoking cigars. He enjoys GCBS because besides enabling him to give back to the music that has meant so much to him over the last couple of decades, it allows him to enjoy the blues at a national level in his own back yard as well as providing a party on a regular basis that brings out the best of Grand County! |
