The Town of Winter Park has a brand new music venue ready for the  summer of 2009.  It is going to be one of the most welcoming venues for mid-size events in Colorado. Easy access and  parking right off Highway 40 make  this venue very attractive. The gentle slope completely cover with sod will  make for cool and soft place to settle in for a day of music.

Bob Margolin on 'Blues from the Top' 2008:

When Barack Obama won the United States Presidency with a strategy of “change from the bottom up” and innovative use of the Internet, his supporters were stunned by their own success. A euphoria of hope that Barack actually could lead us to reverse the course of the world’s crises kicked in. It was a party and vacation for the spirit before we fell back to today’s daunting challenges.

I felt a similar euphoria just last summer, at and after the Blues From The Top festival in Winter Park, Colorado.  The Grand County Blues Society hosted such a good time for the performers and audience that I and everyone I’ve spoken to who was there noticed a distinct and week-long spiritual high. I credit not only a confluence of the thin air, hospitality, gorgeous mountains, and friendly folks but the blues music itself. We all know that performing and listening to blues music is the cure for blues, the feeling. It’s a sensual pleasure that can give us relief even in real tough times. Blues music is refreshing, recharging, and healing. Like hope.

We are going to have music all over town starting Friday night with the pre fest party at Smokin Moes. That line up will be anyone who is in town including Tab Benoit starting it off. Sat night will be the "walkin blues tour". We will be getting blues in some of the other night spots and Category 5 will be doing the Smokin Moes show with Zac Harmon, Deanna, Trampled Under Foot, Mike Zito, maybe Tab will have something left. Sunday will be the after party at the Pub, anyone left in town will be sitting in with Andy Irvine Blues Collective.

Looks like all the good folks in the valley are pitching in to make this the best visit ever. Come and plan to stay for a few days and make this the vacation you can afford.

Another BFTT, another killer line-up. This is the PREMIER Festival in Colorado. Top Talent that never slows done for a second PLUS affordable tickets. I've had my room booked since February. We started with 4 of us coming over the mountain to catch BFTT in its early years, now we have a group of 20+ Front Range folks from the 'other' side of the mountains. It don't get any better than BFTT! Thanks guys!

Please state the obvious and put in a link to Hideaway Park and the evening venues. It can help us out of townies get our bearings and plan where to stay. Thanks!

Also wondering what's allowed to bring into the venue? Can we pack a cooler for the kids?
