Soulmate created history by being the first and only blues band ever to represent India (Courtesy The Blues Club Of India) at the 23rd International Blues Challenge organized by The Blues Foundation of America and held in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, in the month of February, 2007. They were semi-finalists and caught the eye and ear of John Catt. A continuing relationship with the band will finally bring them to Grand County to play. The core of Soulmate are Rudy Wallang, one of the foremost singer/songwriter/blues guitar players in India with a long musical history having been part of the well known Indain blues rock acts, Great Society & Mojo and beautiful and talented vocalist and rhythm guitarist Tipriti ‘Tips’ Kharbangar who has earned a name as one of the finest female singers to have emerged out of Shillong and India as a whole! When often asked by people, why they chose the Blues…their answer has been…”we didn’t choose the Blues…..the Blues chose us”! Soulmate would like to use their talent not only to entertain, but also to help society in whatever way they can and their invlovement in the GCBS program Blue Star Connection is evidence of this desire. Rudy and Tipriti befriended beautiful Blue Star Sneha, also from India, begining a world-wide Blues Star Connection. It will be a special night at Smokin' Moe's as the blues comes back to America from India. See you there.

Rudy and Tips with beautiful Sneha..... You will always be in our hearts :)

I have waited for three years to bring this group to Grand County, they are the proof that the blues belongs to the people and not a country. Tips will literally blow your mind with her intensity and Rudi and can play with anyone. Tips also is a remarkable guitar player and they know how to play together. Can't wait, they may be coming as the IBC winner too!

We are looking forward to having an intimate experience with such international talent at our venue. I am sure with the setting of the Circle H the energy and experience for both musicians and audience will be memorable and talked about for years. April & Ken Hilton
